NOMINATION FORM
The nomination of individuals for induction is a very important part of the Hall of Fame. Please read the following carefully to ensure your nomination is complete and complies with the selection guidelines.
NOMINATIONS
Anyone may nominate any individual, living or deceased, to be considered for induction into the Saint Louis Sports Hall of Fame.
ELIGIBILITY
Individuals nominated for selection to the Saint Louis Sports Hall of Fame must have long association and/or residency in the City of Saint Louis and made an outstanding contribution to their sports: Athlete, Coach, Manager, etc. In addition to the above criteria, an athlete being placed in nomination must have: 1. Achieved a distinguished record at the highest level in his or her area of sports endeavor, with consideration given to integrity, sportsmanship and character, and 2. Participated in sports classification in which he or she is nominated for a minimum of twenty years or have been inactive for a minimum of three years, be a minimum of 40 years old. Contributor: In addition to the above criteria, a contributor being placed in nomination must have served the athletic community with special distinction in areas including, but not limited to, administration, media, sports medicine, and officiating.
SELECTION
The ballot of nominees is sent to the Selection Committee of more than 100 persons made up of former players, coaches, managers, sport teams administrators and the sport media in Saint Louis. The number of actual inductees chosen is determined by the Executive Committee annually. Nominations must be typed or printed legibly on the nomination form provided by the STLSHOF and returned to the STLSHOF no later than January 1 of each year. Nomination forms can be reproduced by computer but must replicate exactly the format of the original form. Attachments are not required but can be included. Attachments can be letters of support, newspaper or magazine articles, or documents directly related to the nominee’s sports achievements and character. Ballots are sent out on Jan. 15 and must be returned by March 1.
